A wettable powder is characterized as a dry pesticide formulation that does not dissolve in water but instead disperses when mixed. This powder contains active ingredients that are typically bound with inert materials, which helps the powder effectively suspend in water when agitated. When applied with water, wettable powders require careful mixing to ensure an even suspension, allowing for consistent pesticide application.

This formulation is advantageous because it provides a controlled release of the active ingredients and allows for precise dosage management. When applied, the particles remain in suspension instead of settling out immediately, which aids in uniform coverage of the target area. Wettable powders are commonly used due to their effectiveness and versatility in various pest control applications.
